The Information Systems Groups at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and Michigan State University combine to form the STS-ISG. The purpose of this group is to develop and support database management, geographic information systems, and information distribution activities across the current (10 state) STS project area

The STS-ISG supports the National Slow the Spread project through the design, development, deployment, and support of technologies servicing the following areas:

• Field Data Collection
• Field Data Visualization and Management
• Centralized Data Storage
• Data Delivery and Cooperator Access
• Project Planning & Evaluation
